The database of events represents our own selection of historical news items. Popularity of events is subjective. Many events may be considered by some people to be more important or influential than the ones we have selected. Where possible we have tried to determine which items appear most frequently in historical records, including many hundreds of websites and reference books. Most database items have been verified from more than one reference, however some may contain grammatical errors or factual inaccuracies.

Headlines and Descriptions of most events are our own compilations. Exceptions include, for example, the titles and authors of popular books, names of popular films and song titles.

The database of events will continue to be expanded and improved. If you find any mistakes or you have any suggestions that you would like us to consider for inclusion, please click here.

The following references and credits list some of the resources that were used to compile our database.
